Abstract

Chemical reaction was adopted to modify surface of dextran-SPION with functional groups in this study. Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer (FTIR) and X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) were used to verify the functional groups of the modified dextran-SPION. The morphology and magnetic property of samples were studied by Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) and Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM). Bioconjugation was studied by connecting samples with IgG FITC-antibody. The results indicate that the unmodified and modified dextran-SPION were superparamagnetic and about 5 nm in size. The modified dextran-SPION were found have good bioconjugation.
