Abstract

[Objective] To study the influence of the entry of rare earth complexes into the periodic mesoporous materials on the optical properties. [Methods] Nanosized mesoporous molecular sieve MCM-41 was synthesized by tetraethylortho silicate (TEOS) as the source of silica and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) as the template. By the conjunction of APTES (3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane) as the silicane, Eu(DBA)3phen complex was assemble into APTES-MCM-41's pores to produce Eu(DBM)3phen / APTES-MCM-41(EAM). [Results] The composites were further characterized by XRD, HRTEM, BET and fluorescent spectroscopy. It is found that the color purity of the EAM composites is increased, compared with that of the Eu(DBM)3phen. [Conclusions] The improvement of color purity may be due to that the anchored amine groups in the EAM composites have great effect on the coordination field to improve the asymmetry of Eu3+ ions in the coordination complex.
