Abstract

 In this paper, the perovskite composite oxide LaCoO3 was made by stearic acid sol-gel process and dehydration of wet sol was studied. Moreover, the thermal decomposition behavior of complex precursors and their phases affected by calcining temperature, calcining time were investigated by DTA-TG, XRD, and TEM. The results indicated that water in sol could be well removed by benzene azeotropic distillation and the grain size of prepared nano LaCoO3 was about 15 nm and aggregation was slight. The nano LaCoO3's photocatalytic degradation to acid red B was tested and the results showed that it had high photocatalytic activity.
